The counseling department at CVMS has been working hard to help students learn essential skills for success. 6th graders are learning to face challenges, persevere, and learn study skills using weight lifting as a metaphor. 8th graders are focusing on developing good study habits by focusing on the details of how they learn and study. 7th graders in language arts practiced inferencing by solving the case of the missing garden gnome. They found evidence in passages to infer what happened to the missing gnome. 
This week in Exploring Tech, students learned about aerospace engineering. The project was to build paper rockets and learn about drag and aerodynamics. Students concluded the week by launching and chasing rocket in the back of the school.
