Keeping Our Parking Lot Safe
Dear CVMS Families,
Student safety during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up is extremely important to us. With a large number of vehicles and students moving through our front parking lot in a short period of time, we need everyone's help following our traffic procedures.
Please help us keep students safe by:
Slowing down
and driving cautiously throughout the parking lot.
Following the established flow of traffic
rather than taking shortcuts through the parking lot.
Dropping students off only along the front school circle/drop-off area.
Please do not stop or drop students off in the middle of the parking lot. This creates additional pedestrian traffic through areas where vehicles are moving and is not a safe drop-off location.
Watching carefully for students and following the direction of staff and volunteers assisting with traffic.
First, a big thank you to the Cedar City Police Department for their ongoing presence and support at the street crosswalk between the middle and high schools! To complement their work, we are recruiting parents and community volunteers to assist at our internal front parking lot crosswalk on school property.
Our greatest coverage needs are:
Mornings: 7:30–8:00 AM
Afternoons: 2:35–2:50 PM, Friday 12:40 - 1:00 PM
If you are willing to volunteer, even if you cannot help every day, please reach out. We can work with volunteers and adjust the schedule based on availability. Even one or two consistent days each week would be helpful.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and especially for slowing down and following our traffic procedures. When all of us follow the same traffic flow and drop-off procedures, we can make arrival and dismissal safer for everyone.
